I am from Iowa we are planning a trip up to Big Trout Lake, I was wondering about the ice conditions (snow, slush, and thickness) any info would be appreciated.

Do you mean the one west of the southerly end of Lake Winnipeg?

Or the one on the north Side of the white fish chain? If so there is about 20-24” ice, slush is minimal, travel should be good with 4x4 truck or sleds.

What Big Trout Lake are you planning to visit ?

Yes on the Whitefish chain. Sorry I didn't know there were similar named lakes.

There are a ton of lakes with the same name. There are two different Trout Lakes within 20 miles of me.
