A friend of mine said he drilled thru 19" of ice on Miltona. Got to think it is close to the same.

That's good to hear. I have a trip booked for this weekend on Miltona (never fished the Alex area) and the guy I'm renting a house from hadn't been able to get his out as of this past weekend - not sure if that was due to ice thickness, slush, snow, or all the above.

Three weeks ago, before that heavy snow/rain event, I measured 9" out on little Ida. Heard from some folks there was a lot of slush after that weather event. Hoping to get out there this weekend with the wheel house and truck.

My friend Herman the German said it had been a slushy mess and a lot of the snow had melted into the slush. But it got cold and firmed up with little snow to contend with. He mentioned there could be some of that crusty ice where you break thru and drop to the real lake ice. Hate when that happens!  His house is on Miltona and he said he saw 1 ton trucks with houses on the lake last Saturday.

My wife, son and I are going up this weekend thru Monday. I looked at the forecast and saw Strong NW winds and fresh snow for Friday and Saturday.

That's great
