I know we are way behind schedule on water temps, but I was wondering if there have been any bug hatches yet? Thanks

Hello!  I am located in Pike Bay and we have had several hatches in the last week.

Started to see some around the Daisy Bay area last weekend.  No big numbers in the air yet, but did see some clouds on the graph.

Seen a few on the surface in the last week but no full blown hatch here yet near Bowstring, Winnie/Cut Foot. Some big clouds over the deeper mud on the graph too. Had just < 67* surface temps last night & early today.

Just to update the thread...in Big Bay the Mayflies seemed to really start to show up in numbers over the course of 4th of July weekend. We would wake up each morning to more and more Mayflies near the lights. When we woke up to leave yesterday morning the ground, vehicles, and cabin was covered in them. Seems like they are full go in Big Bay.

Big Bay is in full hatch mode.  Started on Friday with a few bugs, and went to full hatch on Sunday night.

There are some down here in Head-o-Lakes and Wakemup...  Nothing massive at this time.

Some of my best walleye fishing has happened during the hatch. I think that it was usually more dumb luck than skill....actually, I'll confirm that.

SkunkedAgain, what is your technique during the mayfly hatch?

Fishing in my buddy's boat! He normally outfishes me 5-1 but if we're in his boat together on a hatch, I'll outfish him 5-1 on minnow and jig.

On Big Bay it appears that the current Mayfly hatch may be about over.  We had some overnight, but it is a small fraction of what it was Sat-Tue.
