The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking comments on a proposal to allow off-highway vehicle access to certain areas of the Clint Converse Forest Campground in the Land O’ Lakes State Forest and the Greer Lake Forest Campground in the Crow Wing State Forest. 

The proposed change will provide OHV enthusiasts direct access from campsites to the near-by recreational trails. Currently, OHVs must be trailered in and out of the campgrounds. This proposal will allow campers with OHVs to unload their OHVs at their campsite. Off-highway vehicle access will be limited to existing roadways and campsites.

The DNR will accept written comments until 4:30 p.m. May 7. Comments may be submitted:

The DNR will also hold a public meeting from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at the City of Fifty Lakes Community Center, 40366 County Road 3, Fifty Lakes, MN 56448. Attendees will be able to discuss the proposal with DNR representatives and submit comments.
