West Battle

Does anyone have reports on West Battle after the snow last week? I heard there are a few houses that have been taken off. Is the ice still in decent shape?

A lot of snow and slush and  flooding. Travel is tough but do able .

I was out on local lakes this weekend with my Rav 4.  Snow compacted a lot over the week and anywhere there was a hole there was some flooding where I saw.  I had to stay to trails but if needed I could get out and about as much as I dared to travel.  Pickup travel was best but hopefully we will keep settling this snow and make it a little easier to travel the lakes.

I went up there last weekend. The road straight out from the east access was broke up a  little and wouldn't recommend driving that one. There were other roads that were in decent shape. Kudos to whoever kept them plowed. Didn't manage to catch much.  A few perch and a tullibee.

 

The amount of snow on the ice kept me from going to the areas I really wanted to fish. There were a few houses but it didn't like there was easy access to the area without a snowmobile.

Travel was hit and miss I was on 3 lakes and if you could find a place to get through a plowed road wall you could get around.  I also was trying hard to not get stuck due to profile of my vehicle.  We fished NW of you a little bit yesterday and had to go up into the weeds to find the fish...girlfriend released a 9.75" blue gill in 6 feet of water sight fishing.
