Compact Jump Starters

Question

Posted

Has anyone had any experience with compact lithium jump starters for cars and boats? Recommendations on brand and size would be appreciated. I have a 175 hp 4 stroke and fish big water. You never know when you might need a jump

I have a Bolt brand compact battery. After using it once, we bought as gifts for family members as it worked perfectly. My C5 vette was stone dead after winter storage. The bolt spun it over and it started at once. One of the boys has used a few times on the lake to jump his Yamaha F150. Nice unit. It has quite a few ports for small devices too. Mine also has a small air compressor....I have used it for low pressure tires but I'm not sure if it would inflate a vehicle tire.

I have an InstaBoost Pilot, 12V, 400A Jump starter/charger.

I have started trucks, boats and ATVs with it easily. Great emergency item to carry in your boat, car, snowmobile, and ATVs!

I have a NOCO Genius Boost 2000 Amp it will jump a diesel

I don't think you will find a better quality but they are a little pricey

You can get a 12v 1000amp for 99 bucks right now if you search batterymart with free shipping

I bought 2 different models off the big A store last year around Christmas time.  If you watch you might be able to find one for under $70.  I believe one of mine is rated at 700 amps and the other is 800 amps.  Only used the 700 amp model so far on a UTV and it worked like a charm.  Bought 2 to keep one in each boat.  Wish my buddy would have had one over the weekend, but instead had to pull the trolling battery to fire his big motor.  Reinforced my decision to have the jump starter in my boat!

Thanks for all your input. I ordered a NOCO 40 and hope I never have to use it but am confident these things work after hearing from device owners. thanks again
