There isnt much fishing news from Whiteface from the locals ,,, and the access leaves a lot to be desired so not too many trailer up that way from the Duluth area ,,, I drove by it yesterday on my way home from Ely and didnt see a boat on the water

It's been 2 years since I've fished this lake. I hope you have a good navi/GPS program, there is a lot of skag busting structure on that body of water depending on what the water levels are like..trust me.

In the past we've only done OK on WFR, and I haven't spent the time to learn it. As LoonASea indicated, its a haul from the Duluth area.  But it is a beautiful lake, and the camp grounds were well maintained. We used the Northern access (campground) ramp, it was in decent shape and the parking lot is nice sized.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've only fished it a few times but I'll put in my 2 cents. Darkwater lake. Water levels are about normal this year. Try wind blown points/humps. Mainly eater eye's. Lots of small pike in bays/weeds. There are crappies but I haven't tried for them.

I will agree with what has been said so far. Have only fished it a couple times, but always managed enough for a meal. Nothing big, but it also has some big gills if you can find them The campground access is a bit of a chore for big boats, but fully manageable. Have a good map as there are lots of lower unit removers out there. I've always had my best luck fishing flats areas. Fish will be scattered, but nearly always bite. Good luck.

Yep, pretty lake. Lots of area to explore. Maybe not the best place for a big eye but for action I think its as good or better than the other lakes around the Duluth area.

While there is a thread and some chatter on whiteface...anybody ever caught/heard of bass on whiteface? I didn't think there were supposed to be any but when digging around on google I see pics of largemouth's supposedly caught out of whiteface reservoir mn?

I have a cabin on a lake right next to Whiteface. I've been out on the lake twice this year and have caught nothing. I don't know the lake, though. Been peeping potential spots on my Navionics. Will update again if I have any luck.

Let us know how it goes. I have a cabin on Linwood just off Whiteface. Be nice to find good spots in the area, seeing as for whatever reason I never fish Linwood...

I mean to catch pike you just need a shiny object...

Just another "Words matter"   Voting on school levy. This was posted on the School "education district" building door.  We had a nice cold walk all the way around the building! The arrow was added, after we educated them! 😒

      Nope!  But it’s more funner!

I don't need no livescope to catch fish....🤔🤪  It's all in how ya wiggle the worm!😜 Just sayin  🤣

Obviously this is more of a hot topic due to forward facing sonar. With that being said, I know people who have pulled crappies out of basins 40+ deep since the fl-8 and zercom flashers came out. That's over 30 years ago. I do think there's a push to ban these in MN and I could see them doing it here. They'll have to pay my livescope from my cold dead hands 😆 on days I can't catch a walleye jigging or rigging it's nice to turn it on and throw corks at individual fish

It wasn't just you, I was fishing west of you about an hour on Monday. Fished 8am-4pm, no fish, two keeper walleye and one small one from 4pm-630pm. Marked a lot of fish, they would come up to a jig and swim away. They were skittish to the dead stick too

I wonder like divers, if we let them decompress every 10' for 1/2hr. If that would help?  🤔  It would slow the bite down a bit!  🤭

That was a better study compared to last winter when they setup the vertical tube nets and tried to release exhausted fish from being studied and expected them to be able to swim straight down a 3' hoop net.     That lake's crappie population from this latest video was pretty deep at 40-50', and no doubt from those depths that is barotrauma for most.  That is deeper than most crappie holes but certainly how some are. However from helping give fish a good release from the 35' and less range and tracking them with live sonar most of them swim at a shallow angle back to the depths and I watch them rejoin the school and be active.  Uncut Angling's video helped counter some of the initial narrow findings.

If you fished with me more often, you'd never have to make this statement...   38" of ice - love it. I'm really going to have to dig around for my auger extension. I don't think that I've needed it in over a decade.   Too bad nobody has a locomotive chugging across the ice to do some logging, like the good old days.
