My buddies and I recently got kayaks and have tried them out on a few lakes nearby but I was wondering what the clearest water near here is.

Big Fish or Big Watab are two of the cleanest lakes in our area

It's about 40 miles to the notthwest of St. Cloud, but Mound Lake is a beautiful, clear lake. The fishing is pretty poor, but it appears to be clean enough to drink the water from it.

Was out there this last winter. No public access on Long, and yes, very clear water. Fishing was less than great...lol.

i lost my access to it via a private party about straight across from el rancho. not sure does el rancho allow a person to launch a boat from there campground.

we did well on crappies when i went out but had to be out there like at 4 in the morning!

Your not talking of Mound by Burtrum are you?  Nice lake for sure but not "clear" by my standards under certainly under 10 ft is summer,  plus i have good luck fishing Mound.

Mons lake a few miles north is quite clear though, as is Bass lake in the same area.

Yep that's the one. Weedline down to 20-feet deep, indicating a great deal of sun penetration. Very clear every time I fished it.

fair enough!:D

One of my favorite "local" lakes.  I fish ot mostly for bass and crappies early in the season.  Now, is just about perfect.  Not the easiest bite, but quality fish.  and when you find them, there is usually plenty near by. texas rigged plastics shine here on outside weedlines and the couple underwater points.

Plus, there are some nice bonus smallmouth.
