What lake if Goofy going on? Hopefully he's on a pontoon and stays sitting down. Don't need weeble woobles falling overboard.

Back in January there was some discussion - a request for volunteers I think to help out and do some guiding.  There wasn't a lot of warm fuzzies going around about.

 

I personally enjoyed the one Gov's Opener I attended in 2010.  They treated us really well and I kinda liked T Paw, so it was a good fit; this one not so much.

 

Dayton made some crappy comments about the locals in the area when the topic of refugees came up.  I don't think they'll be forgotten for a while.  After I heard about the comments, I can hardly blame some for being upset.

Glad the opener went well for the governor and others.  40 fish caught In   the group.  Good PR for st cloud.  Had members from both parties fishing. The negative boys from fishing Minnesota didn't damper this...

St. Cloud did a fantastic job, all the events leading up to today came together without a hitch. We couldn't have asked for better weather and even the fish cooperated. I'm glad I took part, several ways actually, of such a historic event in my backyard. The opener will be held in Willmar next year, and I encourage locals to get involved.

Well Don you can be assured Dayton won't be back. I'll tell you from all the positive response from everyone who attended, especially those involved in making the final decisions picking the host city, I would bet it will be back here in 10 years, if possible sooner. Great job, St. Cloud, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids!

I would love to have the event back, just not this Governor.    He told all of the locals to leave this area if they did not like all of the Somalis that were placed here.    I am 100% in favor of the Governors opener,  just am disgusted with this governor.

Did the host boat thing and had a great time with the people I was paired up with. We did okay got a few walleye and smallies and cats even a lone redeye rockbass. All in all it was great for area and blessing to be part of. Also got the meet a local river rat. Good times.
