Which Humminbird?

Looking to get a different depth finder for my boat, one with GPS and side imaging. I have $650 to spend, and have found a new Helix 7 SI and a used 998c SI HD with about 800 hours on it.  They both are $600.  Which one would you get and why?

Looking at the HB Helix 7SI myself...$699, replacing older Lowrance....hoping to hear responses.  New Garmin units with SI not bad either with preloaded Lake Vu maps in HD 1' increments but am so tied into Lakemaster.

Helix 7. The 998 is only an 8" screen, and I would trade an inch for a brand new unit. You'll get better support, and get support for longer, as opposed to buying a discontinued product.

Helix 7 all day. The 998 has the ability to network with other Hbird units/ipilot link, but the brighter screen and faster processor are worth the trade off unless networking is a deal breaker. If that is the case, a new Helix 7 G2N has a msrp of 799.

I appreciate the feedback...I was thinking the same thing and ended up getting a great deal on a Helix 7 SI GPS G2 online.  Can't wait to use it!

You'll love it. Spent a few hours on the water this weekend learning my new Helix 10 SI and can already see how nice it's gonna be.  Didn't even touch a rod - just put the trolling motor on auto-pilot and cruised around reading the handbook and playing with it.  Enjoy!
