Fished Monday starting at about 2. We caught 9 eyes with crawlers and ZERO northerns.  Biggest was 18. Hit 3 different spots.  Decided to check the crappies and 4 boats were there using minnows and bite was dead. We did pick up 4 using plastics.  Talked with one guy and the bite was good last Friday evening. WInd and rain moved in during the night and we decided to head home. Coulda fished but we both had stuff to catch up on at home.

What depth were the eye's in now?

Heading up that way in a couple of days. Hopefully the weather gets decent.

We fished there on Wednesday. Only two keepers, and several small ones. We caught so many small notherns we ran out of bait. They seem to be getting worse every year. With that many small pike in there, it's going to wreck that lake. Nobody keeps any they my need to put a bounty on them.

you could keep 9 under 22 till they changed back to 3 this year. no sure why they changed it. couple guys were using minnows close to us and thy caught have dozen or so.  kinda funny watching boats and when fish on out comes the net, then it goes back when a northern pops up.  must not want to get the net slimy... LOL

excellent pickling material. and yea makes me wonder why they went back to the 3 when sand lake is still 9????

I fished string on opener, minimal success, two walleyes. I actually launched out of cow bay with my 14 ft the north public access was a zoo. Caught them similar to how eye guy stated.
