Another informal get-together?

It's about that time of year....Is anyone interested in another get-together down at our "secret spot" on the Mississippi?  I have turkey hunting this spring (not sure which dates yet) and a few other obligations, so a few of my weekends are full.  But if someone proposes a date that works for me, I'll definitely stop down again. It's always nice to see old faces (talking to you, eyeguy) and a few new ones, too.

 

One date that *does* work for me is Sunday, April 9th.

Yep, we can only purposefully target cats and "rough fish" like carp and suckers.  This is a very, very advanced style of fishing; I highly recommend a St Croix Legend Extreme with a high-end Shimano or Abu Garcia reel, Suffix braid with a flouro leader, and non-lead sinkers for increased density and sensitivity.  Pair that with a lazer-sharp Trokar hook, and you're good to go for suckers. I've also found an orange bead (never a green bead!) above the hook to double the odds.  Finally, I've found fish much, much prefer a welded-together titanium bank-fishing rod holder.  A forked stick is much less effective.  

 

Just joking, of course.  

 

Should we call it official, then, for April 9th?  How does 1:00 p.m. sound?

Since I haven't been to this GTG in the past, I'd like to confirm it's at Riverside Park.  Same place as last years GTG thread showed?

 

I'm usually that guy that shows up early or late or at the wrong parking area. 

It would be nice to know if I don't see anyone I recognize to just be patient and keep my nose open.
