Boat Seats

Question

Posted

I have an early 2000s Lund side console fishing boat that needs new folding seats.  Can anyone recommend a decent replacement seat brand to use?  Is it possible to find Lund replacements or is that just a way to over pay for the Lund name?  The Lund ones I have were clearly good quality, but took some abuse from previous owner.

Are there any good non-Lund seats you'd recommend from one of the sporting goods stores?  I like the idea of seeing them in person and easy returns if they don't feel comfortable in my boat.

Any other useful advice appreciated.

Thanks!

Your best bet is to go some place like Cabela's or fleet farm. Look at what they got find what you like as far as price style and color and try them if there not what you like exchange them. I would definitely say boat seats are a "you get what you pay for" you buy a $40 seat it's probably going to be junk while a $100 seat will last a lot longer and be made better. Hope this helps!

Try giving Modern Assemblies in New York Mills, Mn a call.  They are the ones that built those seats for Lund. The can probably rebuild them for you to original. They do nice work at a reasonable price.

Sorry I forgot to put their phone #.  218-385-3385. Ask for Dan or Bonnie.   Hope this helps.

Thanks slowpoke.  I just looked at them again and they're in really good shape actually, it's just that the back boards where the screws attach are weak and some of the screws don't stay in on a couple of them.

Does anyone know of somewhere in the metro (preferably south) that would repair them.  Would a Marine place like Dan's Southside or Valley Motor sports do something like that?

Not sure how much money you want to throw into them but like someone else said. The boat seats at Fleet Farm aren't bad and come in a lot of different colors to match boat colors. Their pretty comfy as well. I have used a bunch of them when rebuilding golf carts instead of spending a lot on new cart seats. This time of year they go on sale as well.

What a difference a day makes.  Fishing was very slow today.  Biggest I caught was only 13 inches.  Marked a lot of fish but couldn't get very many to bite.   The wind was very strong today and did cause a little bit of drifting, but travel is still good on the latke.  Just avoid the snow banks and drifts.  Saw one house get pulled off the lake, and didn't see any new houses come out before I left the lake at 4pm.  Lots of snowmobiles and trailers in Tower.  At least the city and lake will be busy with those.   Good luck fishing if you go out the last weekend of the winter season.

Ice condition didn't change much in the last week as shown in the McKinley Park photo from today.  The holes in my house froze all the way down in the last six days; 40 inches of ice now.  I drilled my two holes 24 inches and cleared the shavings out before reaching water.  Much cleaner way in a permanent house.   Fishing was pretty good today.  Caught two 24" walleyes, including the 5#-7oz fatty pictured.  Also caught a 19 incher.  Best bite was from 11 to noon.  Much better action with chubs than shiners today.  Never tried the pike suckers I had.   Good luck fishing the last weekend this winter.  Going to be very windy Friday, but drifting shouldn't b a problem since there is no loose snow on the lake.  Saturday and Sunday look to be very warm.  Still about 35 houses left out from McKinley Park.

Too bad she’s after big game when she leaves home.  Your one eyed trouser trout might not lure her in. 😉
