I had a battery op Repala a few years ago and sold it to someone else at our campground. Didn't like the way they just zipped through without following the fillets and lost a lot of meat. Really suk's on a partly frozen fish! :(  Mine came with a case.

Oh, says the guy that just took the plunge!

I'm sure it will do your little pan fish ok. Let me know if you need a few Walleye's to try? :D

An old tackle box works :-)   once you get used to the electric you will never look back....

Go to Fleet or the Cabala's and look at all their small tackle, hunting or shooting cases.

I've got a small nylon bag for my knife, used the electric knife for many years mostly on large fish, a friend use's his on all fish.

I seem to not use it for panfish because it's to big and powerful so a regular old knife seems better. But for walleyes and Pike I prefer it. It's really nice. All I use for a case is a hard sided electric fillet knife case.

Leech, my experience exactly, I hated the thing! I'm a Mister Twister Piranha guy, it's a little heavier duty than the green ones but never had trouble with the green ones either over the many years I've used them. I can use a filet knife on those rare occasions we do a shore lunch somewhere.

I see they have the Piranha at Fleet now, you used to have to get them online.

It's not an Olympic Competition Pal! That's why I sold it and went back to hand fileting for a more custom clean cut! :pow::D

The fun and sometimes easy part!!:Kaboomm:

Tackle box for a case, to answer the op.

As far as technique, I use a big serving fork along with the electric fillet knife... cut behind the head, down along the backbone to the tail and remove the fillet. I stab the upper meaty portion, with the fork, and hold it while I remove the rib cage. Then, stab the small end and fillet the meat off the scales/skin.

Electric takes some practice,  but it's definitely the way to go if you've got a mess of fish!

Once you get used to the knife panfish are very doable.  No wasted meat with practice.  I loved the American angler knives but they are getting harder to find including extra blades.  I have a mister twister piranha and have had it replaced under warranty.  It just doesn't hold up at least for me.  I use a hard side that came with a previous electric knife.  A small canvas bag works well too.  Nice to keep a short ext cord in there, extra blades, baggies and some vinyl gloves.

Go ahead, call it a conspiracy.

BTW, I heard a couple people talking on Blue about how everyone knew who was gonna catch what.

It was the oddest thing.

What a difference a day makes.  Fishing was very slow today.  Biggest I caught was only 13 inches.  Marked a lot of fish but couldn't get very many to bite.   The wind was very strong today and did cause a little bit of drifting, but travel is still good on the latke.  Just avoid the snow banks and drifts.  Saw one house get pulled off the lake, and didn't see any new houses come out before I left the lake at 4pm.  Lots of snowmobiles and trailers in Tower.  At least the city and lake will be busy with those.   Good luck fishing if you go out the last weekend of the winter season.

Ice condition didn't change much in the last week as shown in the McKinley Park photo from today.  The holes in my house froze all the way down in the last six days; 40 inches of ice now.  I drilled my two holes 24 inches and cleared the shavings out before reaching water.  Much cleaner way in a permanent house.   Fishing was pretty good today.  Caught two 24" walleyes, including the 5#-7oz fatty pictured.  Also caught a 19 incher.  Best bite was from 11 to noon.  Much better action with chubs than shiners today.  Never tried the pike suckers I had.   Good luck fishing the last weekend this winter.  Going to be very windy Friday, but drifting shouldn't b a problem since there is no loose snow on the lake.  Saturday and Sunday look to be very warm.  Still about 35 houses left out from McKinley Park.

Too bad she’s after big game when she leaves home.  Your one eyed trouser trout might not lure her in. 😉
