Nice and the darker color should camo-the fish slime for 2-3 years before washing!

Got into a few good ones myself yesterday, the front coming in really caused the big ones the put the feed bag on for the day

A buddy and I went up to blackduck area for couple days last week.  Lots of big bluegill caught and good times had.  First pic is a 9¾ and 10 inch double.  Second was my big fish for trip

First outing this spring turned out fairly successful.  Not consistent action yet but enough to stay interested.  Nothing bigger than 12 inches though.  All were released fully alive to complete the reproductive process.

Anyone ever target crappies at night this time of year?  I just can't seem to find anything bigger than about 12-13 inches.  I know people fish for them in the winter at night.  I'm thinking of going an hour before sunset and then staying out there for a couple hours after the sun goes down to try and up my odds of a freak slab.

The last couple weeks have seen the panfish moving towards their bedding areas, then away from the beds durring the cold snap, now back towards the beds again. I would guess with temps pushing close to 100 this weekend, we will see the bluegill spawn in full force across much of the state. 

These were some of the gills I have gotten in the last two weeks

I’ve been catching some big males out deep again. Grass in 7 to 12ft has been where I’m finding them. Either drop shot or jig under a float with 1 to 3 inch gulp minnows
