Marked and watched crappies all day. No fish. Is that typical on blue?

Ya i was out there yesterday,only caught 2 crappied,the sunnies were biting a little better but shut off after dark

What's the Ice thickness on Blue now?  I'm considering driving out tomorrow on Blue. Has anyone fished Crappies or Sunnies Mon, Tues or Weds this week?

Out Sunday ... Looked like a City of Trucks and Castles ... Bite was slow but managed a few Crappies / sonnies on Plastics.   we lost a nice walleye near the hole on a moon jig and crappie minnow.   Might have to go Perching in the shallows on south side of MilLacs this weekend.  Hey Moose ... what ya using for Perch on Millacs shallows 12-18 FOW?

I like jigging spoons but go after gills and crappies in the bays just saying

 Went out on Blue Saturday night / Sunday Morning ... left my house with my ATV all loaded down, drove from garage to lake.   Managed a few nice ones on jigs but found that North Access quite a mess and glad I drove ATV.  Lots of water on top of North access extending out quite aways out.  Be very careful until we get a good hard freeze again.   trucks are driving out there when I left but that access looked like Russian Rolette!! LOL

Anyone have ice update at landing?  Hoping to pull house out today.  General thickness on lake?

Fished Blue yesterday / evening. A couple of small crappies and some 6 inch perch. Was in the deeper water ( 28 ft ) away from the pack. Again marked a lot of fish but only the perch were aggressive and hungry. Water was very cloudy as compared to the other lakes that I have been on. Don't know if that is good or bad, but the crappies I got were before dusk.

Both landings were OK , but could change quickly.

      What a difference a day makes.  Fishing was very slow today.  Biggest I caught was only 13 inches.  Marked a lot of fish but couldn't get very many to bite.   The wind was very strong today and did cause a little bit of drifting, but travel is still good on the latke.  Just avoid the snow banks and drifts.  Saw one house get pulled off the lake, and didn't see any new houses come out before I left the lake at 4pm.  Lots of snowmobiles and trailers in Tower.  At least the city and lake will be busy with those.   Good luck fishing if you go out the last weekend of the winter season.

      Ice condition didn't change much in the last week as shown in the McKinley Park photo from today.  The holes in my house froze all the way down in the last six days; 40 inches of ice now.  I drilled my two holes 24 inches and cleared the shavings out before reaching water.  Much cleaner way in a permanent house.   Fishing was pretty good today.  Caught two 24" walleyes, including the 5#-7oz fatty pictured.  Also caught a 19 incher.  Best bite was from 11 to noon.  Much better action with chubs than shiners today.  Never tried the pike suckers I had.   Good luck fishing the last weekend this winter.  Going to be very windy Friday, but drifting shouldn't b a problem since there is no loose snow on the lake.  Saturday and Sunday look to be very warm.  Still about 35 houses left out from McKinley Park.
