Propane valve won't turn to open on 20lb tank

My propane's valve won't turn to open up the 20 lb tank.  It is super hard to turn and  seems like it is stuck in the closing position.  Any ideas on how to open the valve so gas will come out of it again?

I wonder if I take it too a propane refill station if they will be able to open the valve with special tools?  Otherwise, I will have to go buy a new tank.

 Is it possible its already opened all the way?  Check that it won't turn in both directions.

Some propane suppliers might be able to help you out.

Other then that your option is to use a tank exchange.

Bring it in where it's warm and shoot a little WD-40 on it and slowly work it to see if that helps. Don't start trying to screw with it with wrench's. If it's corroded inside you need to bring it in like ST suggested. Good Luck
