Flooding

Had a little water coming up onto the ice today. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad.

I heard this was also the case on Long Lake last week.  Water coming up the holes and the access was terrible.

A few years back my brother had a house out that we plowed a road to after a big storm. He didn't want to move it even with the flooding but we moved my father in law's. Next day half way to my brother's house what had started as a pencil size hole the day before was now a hole about 18-20" diameter. Now I hate when the lakes flood even more then before since I worry about finding a hole like that when I'm out.

What are the conditions like on the ice after the last few warm days?

We were up north of DL 15 miles this weekend and a ton of water on the ice but it's from melting snow.  All the holes we drilled the ice was still 1-2" above water level.  It was pretty hard getting around especially at accesses due to the snow melting.  Was very soft but I was able to get around with my Rav 4, barely made it up the accesses huge hill because traction control turned off but made it though!  We had 18-19" of ice 12-14" of it was clear ice.
