Mille Lacs is hot right now!

If your looking for some good walleye action right now, Mille Lacs walleye bite is on! Fish were aggressive in the morning with many fish over 17". By 9:30-10am the bite slowed down but they would come through every 15 minutes or so. Probably iced over dozen walleyes in couple hours. I know the limit is only 1 fish with a small slot size, but I didn't go there to keep fish. The fun of catching them is all I need.

Man I want to get out there but heading farther north this weekend hopefully it stays hot!

Taking the girlfriend ice fishing for her first time this weekend up there hopefully the bite is still on! And that the resort can get their sleepers out. 

 

Any tiips on structure type or lures?

I'm hoping the bite is still on too. I'm going go back up on Monday check it out. There were lots of drop down sleepers out there so pretty good chance you might find one. For tips,  20ft was key for me and they didn't want the dead stick. Make sure to be jigging. Morning was really hot and afternoon died down but would still come through every 20 minutes or so. I was using a gold spoon tipped with a minnow head which worked great but there were pounding them so hard they probably would of eat any bait.  Good luck man and hope you guys ice some fish!
