Hey guys. Just curious on any info you can give me on this lake? Thinking about trying it out. Is it a night bite or day bite? Any size to the panfish? Thanks!

I have only been out during the day, and the panfish generally run small, but every once in awhile you run into some decent ones

You can get crappies after dark and even a gill. I do best during the day. Size depends on the cycle at this time there is a lot of gills in the 6.5 to 7.5 inch class. Crappies tend to run 7 to 9 inches. One thing with Baxter is remember to release the pike over 28 inches they keep the panfish in check.

Went out for a few hours this morning on baxter and it was real slow. A few other guys out, drilling a lot of holes and moving around. Caught 2 crappies and could not get the fills to bite. Tried everything under the sun, waxie, larvae, minnow, plastics. Im guessing the recent change in weather has turned the fish off.

That could be true. How was the ice? Was there slush yet? I like the 6 foot range on Baxter

No slush, everything was frozen, hard to walk though as its uneven and a littlw snow on top . Id say there was 10inches of ice in some spots. Ya we tried between 6-9 ft
