Pickerel Lake

I drove by Pickerel Lake in Lilydale and was surprised to see people ice fishing.  Has anyone ever fished there or know what kind of species are in it?

I fish there all the time. Spring time it can flood and fill up with fish from the river. They usually try to have an aerator out there in the winter to keep them alive. It's pretty shallow, but you can get some decent fish out of it. It is a river backwater so it varies from year to year. I have also seen the pressure go up and down, that usually depletes a lot of it pretty quickly.

Thank you for the info, i may have to give it a try sometime.  I hadn't heard of some of the fish species before like  the Gizzard Shad.
