A fresh 12" of snow lays on the ground around here, I'm sure that cooled the water down enough to start thinking about ice. The 7 day forecast doesn't look like it's going to get above freezing for too long so get your stuff ready guys, the ice will be here before you know it!

Well that fell apart quickly lol, Looks like starting tuesday we won't see above freezing for a while, I saw lows in the single digits and even a - sign!

Of course it won't at first, but after this snow that's coming down right now the temps will drop to december like temps and the smaller ponds will lock up!!!! The more brave souls will be out checking the small ponds by this weekend, I would have been in my younger years

Heck, everything darn near locked up today. This morning Cass was all locked up besides some water out just south of Cedar Island. Pike was frozen all the way across. I cruised to Naytahwaush to visit my mother today and everything was locked up besides Lake LaSalle , thich is 200+ feet deep.
