His count is an estimate, cut him some slack, he's 78years old. There stands a very good chance that many of those "150" were killed when the seasons were closed too. (No accusations intended)

He got himself the deer of a lifetime! Congratulations to him. If it was me and I was 78years old and put a buck like that on the ground. You can bet my shot gun and orange jacket/hat would be hung up for ever.

I didn't think they implemented regulations before 1972? I think that's the year that they closed hunting then the next year had regulations. I believe before that it was just a certain number of deer that was allowed for the year they would just open the season and close it when the number was reached?

if he started hunting when he was 14 then he has 62 years of hunting 2 a year would be 124 throw in a couple 3 a year and that is about 150

 

I usually average 2-3 deer a year so he may not be too far off

Here is a 103 year old, Man I hope to be still hunting at 60!
