Does the upper sections of the St. Louis River have muskies in it? I know the sections by Duluth do. But the sections I am talking about, are when the river goes under Hwy 53 to Hwy 7? If you have some advice, send me a PM!

Your best bet would be to contact the DNR and ask them.

I'm sure a couple have probably made their way downstream from island lake reservoir. But you could probably fish that stretch everyday for the rest of your life, and never even have a follow. Honestly, you'd have a better chance catching one along the mud line, out on the big lake. Ever since the big flood a few years ago, I hear a handful of reports every year about guys trolling for trout/salmon, hooking into a Muskie.

I've never caught or seen a musky on the upper St. Louis. The Cloquet river has a (very) few and it runs into the St. Louis so im sure there must be some but as mentioned your odds of ever hooking one are very slim. I have caught a couple in Lake Superior though.
