Things are still pretty status quo in regards to the report from the past couple of weeks with signs of it starting to pick up and improve as we move through August.  On the Main Lake, pulling spinners in 13-16ft of water on transitions has produced some fish as well as pulling crankbaits on the tops and edges of the major reefs such as Huddles, Variety, Hogers, etc.  Look to using #5, #7, or even upsizing to #9s when trolling crankbaits and go 2.2-2.8mph changing up speed, colors, and your trolling path to locate and figure out the trolling pattern.

As you move west on the lake, Grand View Flats, Snake Pits, and West Goose have all had sporadic bites at times in 9-14ft of water either trolling crank baits or pulling lindy rigs depending on the day.

In Walker Bay, breaklines in 15-28ft of water are showing walleyes.  Lindy rigs with chubs or crawlers have been best.  Speed is the key as well, sometimes moving along quicker such as .8-1mph and other stays slowing down and working slowly through those fish.  Some of the humps and bars that are within close proximity to shoreline breaks are also producing fish.

The musky bite has been fairly good of late with anglers seeing many muskies.  The Main Lake Rocks have been the best for seeing fish.  Small bucktails such as the Big Tooth Mini Juice series or top waters have been best.

Until next week
