Lake Marion Northern Pike

Caught a few Northern Pike last Friday afternoon trolling a bright yellow spinner bait behind the boat above weeds on the north end.  6-8 ft of water at about 1.5 mph.  Caught one 24" and a couple hammer handles.  Hoping to hook into a nice one there sometime, according to the DNR there's a few in there.

There are...a very few, & it's been a lot of years since I caught a 25" plus pike in there. The lake gets absolutely hammered during hard water, & that plus the 65 million four inch sunfish make it a tough proposition to catch one of any size in Marion. On the other hand, if you can find the bass, there is some very good fishing to be had.
