Not a walleye, but a monster!

Trolling for walleyes and my son caught this muskie-just shy of 50".  I took a picture that didn't show the whole fish, my buddy is holding the full length shot.

That is a great fish! Congrats to all. Nice release, too. I've caught a few nice muskies while walleye fishing, but haven't been able to get them in the boat- good for the fish. By the way, Cigarguy, I'm enjoying a cigar while catching up on the forum.

Thanks guys.  He sure had fun, the battery on his phone died texting all his friends.  We were trolling cranks for walleyes on a break edge on the west end when he connected with it.

My dad has hooked 3 muskies in his life,all 3 on a leech and jig fishing for walleye.Nice Job!

Congrats to your son CigarGuy!  My buddy had a big muskie follow his crank bait all the way to the boat but it did not strike.

How did you guys do on the eyes?

We caught everything but walleyes.  Marked them like crazy on the 24-30' flats. Threw the whole tackle box at them and could not get them to bite.

Thanks all.  Chad, the muskie we caught was within site of your place!  Saturday morning we had a nice 20" walleye about 5 minutes into the day-first and last one all weekend.  Caught a lot of pike, a meal of crappies/sunfish.  Yesterday, I walked out on the neighbors dock and a good size muskie shot out from under it.
