Where is everyone headed?

I plan on doing the chain again this yr. Will be looking along shallow weed edges, and breaks just off the shallow feeding areas. Would expect to get all my fish in under 12 ft.

Good luck to all and be safe:)

Ditto Smurfy. Way too many people at the accesses that don't have a clue. I just can't take the frustration any more. I'll start next Monday.

I'll probably go to the chain. I caught a 15" the other day slow trolling a crappie jig in 4 feet of water. Also been in lines at the boat ramps already. One person took out their pontoon and drove away with about 10 pounds of weeds still on the trailer.

I'll be bass/walleye fishing on a private-access lake south of town. I'll probably be the only boat out there.

Might just have to burn the midnight oil and get out at 12:01 a.m. On a local spot. Hopefully not to much traffic at that time. Plus no light at the access so may detour some folks. All I know is I can't wait to feel a nice walleye thump - thump.... Bobberdown fellas.

I will be on the chain of course.  Do not miss the craziness of a public access.   Have not done that in 8 openers.   Will not go out at midnight and join that madness.   Will wait for light.

The overnight low projects to be about 33 degrees.

That's one way to beat the crowd!

I'll likely be out after dark starting Saturday night.  Will have the cold weather gear on and likely have lots of space to fish. ;)

Not quite the St Cloud area, but it's Mille Lacs again for me, at 12:01 A.M.  Traditions die hard. :)

Wife and I are chasing trout on the opener. I usually hit a few area lakes and troll small raps. Never get skunked on the opener. But the landing is a zoo, We are just one of the animals.

My tradition has always been to get together with my longtime buddy, pack a bunch of chips and sandwiches, some refreshments and head out to our local hotspot at midnight. Last year we changed it to 3:00am and had just as much fun, caught just as many fish and was easier to fish a bit longer into the day.

Unfortunately, this year my buddy's little sister is getting married (must not be a fisherman) and he won't be able to make it. The father in-law and I are gonna pack our winter gear and hit the lake around 3:00 am and troll our favorite shallow spots and jig our favorite icefishing breaks. I usually fish opening morning til about 10 or eleven, head home for a nap and get some work done around the house and head back out in the evening. Lets hope the fish cooperate. Good luck!

Will be fishing the chain again this year-dragging something, leech, minnow or crawler. Don't look for me on the river or at the bridge. Been there and done that only to get frustrated. Was out for cruise last weekend and noticed that there are weeds everywhere. Should be interesting- and I hope better than last year !!!

Good luck to all and be safe

Out on Rice, first time for opener in 10+yrs. Going out Saturday after the sun comes up. I havent had a chance to run the boat since I bought it so I want to get used to the electronics when I can see something.

Will hit the chain with family.  Makes it about 15 straight years.  Usually good for a meal for mom and dad.  Will be staying away from the crowds as a general rule.  So if you see a crestliner with three folks dressed in ice fishing gear all by themselves that be us. :)

Looks like we'll be skipping Opener this year in favor of pulling a double-shift on two different lakes Sunday. The weather will be FAR better.
