A friend of mine is building a new home on Lee.The DNR lake finder says there is a big algae buildup in the summer and everything below 15 feet has no oxygen. Is that true? So the lake is pea soup green allowing no fishing or tubing?

I grew up fishing Lee, and still do from time to time. The algae bloom doesn't happen every year - but it does happen quite often. I would say that the "anything below 15 feet" is not true, and I've caught Sunfish, perch (lots of perch), bass, pike, and the occasional walleye off the bottom.

It's a frustrating lake. Rarely do fish cooperate. But, there are fish out there.
