Hi everyone. I would like to take my 4 year old out for the first time this year. Do you guys have recommendations on where to take him?  Obviously catching fish is much more important than size. I would be open to any kind of fish (panfish, little pike, etc) that would get him some action. Thanks everyone.

Which side of ST Cloud are you looking to go... I have not been out to get numbers, looking more for size so I don't have a good recommendation other than make sure you have a warm house and maybe some toys to play in the snow ice during some slower times. My kids have grown up ice fishing and to them it was a play day on the ice where we might catch some fish... good luck and way to teach your about the outdoors.

It doesn't really matter which direction from St Cloud.  We live in Sartell but driving a bit would not be a big deal. I appreciate the input on bringing other stuff out. A great idea.

Not much really around Sartell. You may have to head over by Avon or down to the Annandale area. Don't forget snacks and kids love flasher or Under water cameras to watch if you have them? ;)

small perch would be fun for the youngster.  I would say go on a warmer day with no wind.  little rock or mayhew are close to you and can provide action. throw a tipup out also maybe in case miss piggy swims buy:).  Grand and Pearl are not far away.  Be safe and have a ball!
