Got some great ice up here in Brainerd on North Long Lake. Went out this afternoon and there was a solid 8inches out there. Marked a ton of fish just couldn't get them to bite on ANYTHING. caught two little northerns on a jigging rap and lost something huge (probably another northern) they say crappies are biting in 11-15ft of water.

I have been out on Rice lake in Brainerd too, not a lot of structure at all. Max depth is only 23ft there, caught 7 walleyes out there but no size to them, all on a vmc tingler spoon. A couple were close to eaters but still just a little too small. Some people were catching crappies out in 12ft but I couldn't get into em. Its hard to find a spot out there for them to kinda hang around when its like a big soup bowl out there lol, just drilled a quite a few holes and gave up and decided to try where I was at and it took a little while for fish to come in. They tend to start hitting up here around the hours of 4-6 is what I would say is prime time. They've been finicky though. Ice on rice is about 6-7 inches
