I didn't fish there, but there were many people fishing in the bay on the east side when I drove past last night. Cars parked all along the road. Heard 5+ inches

Just checking in to see if the ice on Reno and other neighboring lakes are safe, anyone know the status?

Thanks

Ice on Reno is about 6".  There are a few permanent houses here and there and a few 4-wheelers and snowmobiles across the lake.  Be safe.

How has the fishing been on Reno? I am going to be making my first trip to the area this weekend. I am wondering if this would be a decent lake to catch some walleye or pike on. Jigging and tip-ups would be how I'm fishing. Any info would be great. Or a direction of a lake that is good say mid day for pike, or at low light for eyes or crappies. So many lakes, so little time. Thank You for any response!

Reno can be good for eyes/crappies evening hrs into the night.

Good morning!!! I will be coming to the area in a week with a half ton truck and 16' house. Just wondering how thick the ice is on Reno?

One of my buddies went out last week and had between 15 and 17 inches of ice.

Last weekend they were scattered.  I kept moving and trying different things got one here one there.  Caught them on plugs, worms, and shiners from 5 to 19 feet.  Walleyes are all over that lake funny how the boats bunch up on Reno.

There was a tournament on Saturday out there with 60 boats. Not many limits brought in. lot of 2 and 3 fish bags. Sounded like there was a lot of smaller fish caught that were not big enough to make 15 inches.

Spent a few hours on Reno Saturday morning. This was my first experience on Reno. Our goal was to find enough fish by noon for a fish fry for our tech services department. One boat got out early but we didn't get out there until about 9:00am. The early boat with two guys found a few eater walleyes (brought in about 7) but we didn't do so well. We were trying leeches, crawlers, and fatheads. Crawlers seemed to work best for them. The fish we did find were shallow along weedlines but we didn't try deep water (below 15'). The one walleye we caught was taken trolling a shad rap in about 5' of water.
