I"m sure this topic has come up several times. However i'm going to put it out there again.

I have a 2011 Ice Castle RV Edition. And I started getting it ready for this season, if it ever does come. And I hooked up the battery, I had it unhooked all summer. I have an on board charger in my fish house. And now after a couple weeks of being plugged in, the LP alarm is going off. My propane valve is closed, so i opened it up and then the alarm went off again. After I pressed the reset button, it'll shut off for a period of time, then go off again. This all happens with it cold and sitting outside.

So could the sensor go bad, or possibly battery go bad? Just wondering where to start.

Thanks

Mine does the exact same thing, mine is also a 2011 ice castle. Sometimes it will be good for weeks or months then it will randomly start going off for no reason. I remember reading somewhere that those detectors are only good for a certain amount of years but who knows. It would be nice to figure out a fix as those are spendy little units.

Most CO/ Carbon monoxide detectors are only good for about 5 years. Batteries should be changed EVERY year!

Change the batteries first, if it still goes off with no apparent reason I would get a new one!

Cheap lifesaver!

Built my home in fall of 2008, have Smoke/Co on 2 levels and change batteries twice yearly. Both units failed one in August the other last month. Sure makes the heart jump when these things go off at 2:00 AM, but very glad I have them. Mine went for 7 years, package says good for 5 years.
