Hey all, I will be in the area the last week in December and will have my 5 year old son and 9 year old nephew with me. I am trying to get them on the ice this year. We will be fishing Lake Darling at this time. Two questions:

1.) Is there any ice on Lake Darling yet as of now and will it even be fishable in the last week in December? So, next week basically?

2.) Would anybody be willing to post here or PM me with some tips and tricks for fishing this body of water? We would be looking for panfish and crappies if at all possible. I have never fished this lake before and any info would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to pull these kids off their electronics and get them out to the outdoors! Any info shared over a PM would be kept secret with me.

Thanks for any help anybody is willing to give me!
