Any Ice??

Any one have a current ice update for winni?  I realize it's early and there may not even be ice, just curious from anyone who would have a view of the lake or who has checked.  thanks

Not exactly Winnie but Williams Narrows on Cutfoot has live webcams.

A way to check for yourself is Google MODIS. It's a sattellite view from wisc.edu, not so good on cloudy days but works other times

No you can't search by lake names.This is what I do, 1st make sure you have the newest imagery by scrolling the date in the toolbar at the top. Zoom in by clicking on 2000m or closer yet if you want by using 1 of the other settings. Then scroll down to the area of the state you're interested in. I use it most for 1st ice & ice out. Hope this helps

I talked to a bait shop in deer river this morning  checking on the surrounding lakes. They told me winni varies from 4"-8" but as always call ahead. They have below freezing Temps all week,  good sign for ice finally!

Merry Christmas! 

As of yesterday on the south end we are finding nothing less then 6 inches of ice and with the temps really dropping it should start making ice fast.
