Took a drive around Madison today. Except for the shallow area of east bay and the bay by Buckmasters, the entire lake is still wide open. With temps forecasted in the 40's the next 10 days that doesn't look to change much.

Hi folks this is my first post. I thought I'd give you some history on me then post some ice conditions that I've found. I fish mainly the Mankato area lakes. I had up until a couple of years ago taken an annual trip to Fall lake just north of Ely staying at Veterans on the Lake resort. I still take 2 or 3 trips out to the Webster area in South Dakota fishing both open water and ice. Well enough about me, here are my findings: All readings taken at the accesses maybe ten to twenty feet from shore.

Madison at Buckmeisters 2", DNR access 2 3/4", north access open. As Lunker said Buckmeisters Bay was froze over and East bay to the Church bar and narrows was frozen.

Duck was open in the middle and had 2 3/4" , I couldn't get on to Ballatyne do to the access being filled with construction equipment.

Ballatyne did look to be completely frozen over though.

George was completely frozen over and had 2 3/8".

Washington at Westwood 2 1/2", North had skim ice out to maybe 100 yrds otherwise the whole north end was open.

All these readings were taken between 9:00am and 10:00 am this morning.
