Went to the Hard Water Expo today, now have my Clam Drill Plate Conversion, the one where you no longer remove the chuck. Sweet unit, holds my DeWalt nicely. Lots and lots of Clam reps at the show, makes sense as the show is put on by Clam and Ice Team. Good display of ice shanty's 1,2,3 man, hubs, dozens of Wheel Houses, and lots of tackle. Got may Drill Plate from Thorne with great show discount. Great fun to talk to so many informed people.

Anything new that caught your eye there? I wanted to go but I have to make sure I graduate in 3 weeks. I have my research paper and my final project to finish yet. I hope I find a job quickly so I can focus on ice fishing as much as possible.

Marcum and Vexilar were the primary "Ice Ducer" suppliers both had great lines of product, most of which were way outside of my buying power. (she who must be obeyed). I am looking at a camera update and really like the WiFi units to complement my SonarPhone. Marcum and Vex both offer them, will go with the Vex FishPhone.

Sat in many Clam and Otter flip units 1-3 man. I really did not see a big difference between the Thermo quality, both were really good stuff. Same with the Hubs between Clam and Eskimo. I think the biggest thing that might sell someone on a specific vendor is the Sales Person. A very attractive young female seemed to bring in a lot of camo clothed males willing to pull out a credit card. Calm and Thorne do understand sales.

Lots of suppliers selling every kind of tackle. When stop signs came out a few years ago in LOTW, they were mainly gold in color. One display have every color of the rainbow in Stop Signs, as did all other tackle suppliers.

All in All it was worth going there. If you go, make sure you go to the Clam Web link and get your $2.00 off coupon
