Shore fishing near Duluth

I have been in the Duluth area for the last 2 weeks, my spouse has spent 26 days out of the last 35 in St.Mary's hospital. I am here everyday and I am getting mighty bored. I have a rod and a bunch of pike flies with me, sure would like to use them. Any suggestions?

Maybe try below some of the lake dams in the area like the Whiteface Res.

Not sure I can help much, but were you planning to fish for Pike with those flies or whatever will bite. I know there are big pike in the St. Louis River and may be accessible now from boat or public docks at Clyde Ave or Boy scout landing. I know people have caught some good ones under the Blatnik Bridge.  Also heard of some nice Pike cruising the Knife River Marina. Loopers should be coming into the shore areas from French River north. People are fishing the bridge and Dam areas on Island and Fish Lakes.
