Thinking of doing some fishing on Dam Lake.   I like bouncing around and checking out the local lakes.  Anyone have experience on the lake?  This will be my first time out.  According to DNR, it has the typical assortment of fish.  I'd appreciate any guidance on how to approach the lake and what to focus on.   Thanks.

Dam has a nice multi species assortment as you say.  A decent walleye population, good largemouth, and some nice crappies and sunfish. Although I have not been on Dam lately, I can say that numerous other lakes in the Aitken area are putting out main basin deep water crappies, and a few walleyes. Bass are coming pretty easy on spinner baits now also. Walleyes will also be relatively deep. There are plenty of nice break lines, and numerous deep weed edges, particularly on the point on the south side. Finding good minnows in the area may be a challenge, its a pretty transitional time in the bait shops.

Good luck if you get there.
