I've been coming up the Vermilion area for years but have never seen a magpie in the area.  On Friday I saw one just outside of Cook eating on a roadkill squirrel.  Has anybody else ever seen one in this part of the state?

I have seen a few magpies up here the the past few years. Lots of them up farther north by Warroad!

I saw the first magpie I have ever seen up here on hwy 77 just this week.

Glad to hear confirmation that I wasn't imagining this!  I wonder if they are expanding their range eastward a bit.

One was spotted on 88 on the north side of Shagawa lake yesterday and they have seen one feeding at the wolf center on the carcasses the last couple of weeks.

Spotted one Saturday on the way to Duluth on County Rd 16 near Hwy 53.
