Pelican lake hunting

So now that this is a pure hunting lake (for the time being) how was the Duck opener for everyone?  Was it busier than average, people wise?  How was the duck hunting this year?

As far as hunters it was about average but I have seen more out there in the past. Hunting was slow for us, the last couple of years we saw a lot more birds but it was slow for a few other folks I talked with who were in other areas also. Shooting got quiet earlier than normal, we got all ours in the first hour. The water level has definitely gone down.

Wed's Minneapolis Tribune had a nice mention of Pelican, water clarity, vegetation, etc. Said a group of 6 had their limits.

I was thinking it should have been really good hunting, since there was very little boat traffic this summer.
