I have heard that U.S. customs will not allow ducks and geese from Ontario to be brought across the border due to avian flu Can any one confirm or deny this ?

Yes, I can both confirm and deny this. :P

The avian flu did close our borders to birds. 

However, the ban was lifted this past Saturday. Customs is still asking that you individually wrap your ducks and date them for inspection. But you should not have any issues bringing birds home.
