Is this resort still open?  I called the number on the website and it's disconnected.  We went to Johnson Lake several years ago and would like to try it again for a fall fishing trip.  Beautiful remote lake with good fishing and access to other lakes.  If the resort is closed I'm curious if the portage/boat launch has been maintained?

Any help appreciated, thanks!

I know it has been awhile since this was posted but figured I would reply. Not sure if they are still open. I believe the owners are from Ohio I believe. As for the portage/boat launch it is state owned and open. The only issue is it is restricted on getting a boat launched. At the parking area there are post so you can only get by with a 4 wheeler at most as it is 48 inches. You go down a trail and hill which is probably 200-300 yards.

The resort is under new ownership and  is open from May through September. There are 4 fully equipped rental cabins, which include boats, motors, full kitchen, generator, hot showers and flush toilets.  Parties of 6 or more pay $450.00 per person per week, all inclusive. Prices have been this low since the 1990's. Great fishing for walleye, northern, small mouth, perch, whitefish, and lake trout. Limited access lake, so the fishing pressure is very low. Located on Johnson Lake with access to Little Johnson and Spring Lake. Borders Voyagers National Park, and Superior National Forest. Call 937 244 1900 for details.

Table is updated below.  Opening day is likely in jeopardy.  Lots of good dates available for those sitting on the sideline.

That's ok, got the Bear hunting out of my system years ago.  Still have some good spots on the GPS up in the Arrow head!  Did love me some good greasy bear roasts though!  😋

Yes, I'm on the West End.  No crappies yet, but I caught a couple of Cisco's and some perch this morning. Been dealing with chores at the cabin since 10 AM, so not much fishing.

Hard to tell exactly how much snow the way the wind was blowing it around, close to that I'll bet!  3 sleds went by earlier. Brian, are you on the west end? Did you fish?  Catch any crappies?

I was on the lake this morning. There is still a lot of ice. I went down to the housing on my auger a couple of times.  I'm not sure how much snow we got yesterday and last night but it looks like around 7 to 8 inches at least.
