Duluth entry 8/16 and 8-17

Fishing was pretty good the past couple days with the water temps setting up very nice. It will be interesting to see what the heavy N.E. winds do to the thermocline. We caught 1 nice king in 70 fow with 70 out on the rigger right away Monday morning on the "two face" JimsFlashback spoon trolling 2.9mph. Both days we trolled from 70fow to 120fow and caught decent sized lakers each day. The 7 color with a 5 ounce clipped on dragging a JimsFlashback "martian" did very well each day. We even caught a 27 3/4" walleye (released) off that set up. Flasher/Fly rigs are starting to out fish the spoons. We slowed down to 2.1-2.3 when we ran the flashers. The light copper and wire rods also worked well. Not very many boats fishing the Duluth area right now.

I use both speed at the down rigger ball and the gps on the bridge. 99% of time I rely on gps speed. I really like the temp at the rigger ball.
