Looking to catch some nice panfish this week on Big Birch.  Any ideas on what has has been working?  Thanks!

Having not been there, this time of the summer, better sized Crappies could be found suspended over deep water. Bluegills should be deep.

Thinking about camping/fishing this coming weekend.  Any reports or can anyone point me in the right direction? Will be the first time on this lake..

If you can, obtain a good lake map. Big Birch is loaded with structure; rock piles, mid-lake humps, underwater points, saddles, deep holes, and the like. Any of which could have potential.

Since I hadn't been on Big Birch in some time this thread got me thinkin...

Yesterday I decided to take a run over there, now that the summer crowds typically begin to taper off. I grabbed some fathead minnows and my jig box hoping I could find some cooperative walleyes out there. 

Well, I'm a failure as a walleye fisherman...at least I was yesterday...but the smallmouth bass provided me with some excitement. Some had decent size to them too. I have never really acquired a taste for bass so I never keep them but they can be fun to catch especially with light walleye tackle.

I was jigging minnows on mid-lake humps and sharp breaklines in 25' - 30' of water. You can always tell when those smallies get on the line as you see it coming straight up to the surface until the fish leaps clear out of the water.

Maybe next time on the eyes....
