Once I get the boat back (should be the next couple days) are there any areas to ablvoid on the river between the St Cloud dam and Sartell dam? Is it possible to boat under the 9th Ave bridge, or is it kind of a launch at municipal for north and wilson for south? Maybe a couple places to head to first?

Presume you are motoring with an outboard ? Once you begin to see large exposed rocks north of Wilson you need to take care. You cannot get up river beyond most of the exposed rocks in that area, and there is no way you should attempt to motor to the Sartell dam. You should not encounter any significant problems in the stretch going from Wilson to the 10th Street dam. All that said, it's the river, constantly changing, deadheads, flotsam of all kinds, and you need to be cautious.

Good luck !

I agree 100% with what Sculpin said. Do not go north of the rapids unless you have a Riverpro;)Biggest thing to look out for are the deadheads, quite a few of them in that section.

Not gonna launch from municipal then. Got it. Thanks for the info. I guess I will be learning the wilson to 10th St stretch in the coming months.

Pretty easy section to learn. Pay close attention to all the rip-rap on the West side;) good starting point for smallies. If you need any advice on baits or spots shoot me a pm.
