Ely area Blueberries?

Coming up to Ely in a week. Can't wait to look for some berry's.  Hope they're not up yet.  Are they?

Nope not yet at least by my house. We have had some ripe strawberries.

Just came back from the BWCA out of Ely yesterday.  Blueberries not ripe yet.  Still mostly green.  Some with a little color.

Not first hand, but begotten from a trusted source that next week should be prime around Vermilion area.

I was up the Echo Trail Sunday thru Tuesday and about a 1/3 of the blue berries were ripe that were in sunny clearings. They made for some real tasty pancakes! Also some of the raspberries were good to go!  Should be good for at least the next 3 weeks.

Found quite a few. Had to hunt for them. Easy spots had been picked over.

So, are Blue Berry spots as hard to get info on as morel spots?  GPS trades anyone?

Hah! Good luck with that. Up here people don't even broach the subject of talking general areas. Best bet is to get on state park sites, and/or stop by them and ask for reports. I think in most cases; like my own, spots found are offered by someone else, and are in turn expected to be held in utmost secrecy. Heck I might be banned just for mentioning it.
