Wondering if mosquitos are bad all day, or just evening and morning flurries?

Trying to decide if I should bring screen tent or not.

Thanks

I was up the last week of May and we had very few skeets but a few were coming out at that point so with some heat and a few more weeks going by I would definitely bring the bug dope and screen tent!

Just assume they will always be bad.  In reality exact conditions will vary from lake to lake and from site to site.  Try to find a site that sticks out on a point and that catches some good breeze.  That will be your best bet for keeping your sanity.

A couple years ago I got stuck with the last campsite on a lake and it was back in a protected bay and the fire grate was set further back in the trees with low lying wetland around part of the camp.  The mosquitoes were HORRIBLE all day long at that site and it drove us to near insanity.  The next site which was more open and breezy was 100x better and fairly tolerable.

Just got back from Grand Marais. This is the best mosquito season I can remember! Meaning there aren't very  many of them. We didn't use bug spray at all the whole week! With that being said, never leave home without deet!
