The crappies are going pretty good now, some lakes they are on the beds and some lakes are seeing a solid post spawn bite. Evenings from shore, fishing the inside weed edge has produced some awesome fishing. Slip bobbers and shiners have produced best for me!

Have to agree Nice to see you back Jim. Fish your area quite a bit in the winter and your reports always get me pumped for my next hardwater season.

Nice!  A little further south,... last weekend, I found crappies on beds in the reeds on humps.  Too many standing old reeds to be able to pull them out.  Yesterday, on a different lake, I found nothing shallow.  No panfish or bass.  Had to settle for walleyes.

Those pesky walleyes can become a real pain trying to fish for panfish or bass. :)

Nice to see you posting again Jim is an understatement!!!  Miss the get togethers....Fished up in your area Mid March on the ice when Peter and his son were up from Florida...it was a blast...tons of pannies caught...nice size crappies and Noah even caught his PB Gill one day. Crappie fishing for me has been lights out since first ice out, was still getting a few on beds last Sunday but have also found them deeper in cabbage already.

Getting them in 12' NE of DL, dodged the rain yesterday evening and found them post spawn both males and females, biggest 13.5". Pink /White tube jig...no live bait needed. The 2 of us caught 23 kept 5 each to eat, pic of a couple.

Way to go Jim!  Heading up your way this weekend, have a buddy lives on Bad Medicine, he's not much of a fisherman and wants me to put his son-in-law from down south on Crappies so either going up into the woods to our good little lake just S of hwy 200 (you know which one) or over to Snyder...or someplace else near 113.  You around this weekend? Call me.....you have my number if you still have your old cell phone... I also sent you my number via Private Message so check that....thx.

Put some buddies (a few from out of town) on a crappie spot and they clobbered them Fri Sat....and they even fished in that rain on Sunday.  I fished with them Sat and it was tough in the wind but we caught plenty of crappies of all sizes and some big slabs....pic of a few of the slabs...the lid on that box is 14".

Dr J...it has been very good...hopefully they stick in the areas we've been getting them.  My guess is they will move deeper into the cabbage soon. Give me a "heads up" before you come up this way again and we'll line up another outing....thanks.
