Going to be heading up that way on Th and staying at Evergreen Lodge on Big Sand for a couple of weeks and was wondering what the water temps. were on the area lakes? I suppose the walleye are moving out to some deeper water with the warmer temps.? Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Fished Big Sand and Fishhook Lakes this past weekend.  Sun was out but it was chilly!  Water temp was 60-61 on both lakes.  Did well on crappies with a bonus largemouth bass with just plain hook and a crappie minnow under a bobber along the shorelines 6-12 on Big Sand in the evenings.  Went out on Fishhook Lake on Saturday midday and caught a couple walleyes 16" and 20" on a jig/minnow and jig/leech with chartreuse and bright orange for jig color.  Also, hooked into a few perch, rock bass, and northern.  All in all, fairly slow day but had fun.  Unfortunately donated my phone to the fish gods so now I get to fumble around with a loner phone until my replacement arrives....uggh!

I should also note that we were targeting breaklines and humps on the south part of Fishhook Lake right out in front of the public access.  Walleyes were caught in 18-20 fow.  Also, we briefly tried trolling some cranks with 3 way rigging and another on leadcore.  We picked up a couple northern, and I lost a fish on the 3 way towards the end of our outing.  From what I have heard, people have been doing well on Big Sand in the evening to after dusk in 8-13 fow.  This was before the cold front of course!

Table is updated below.  Opening day is likely in jeopardy.  Lots of good dates available for those sitting on the sideline.

That's ok, got the Bear hunting out of my system years ago.  Still have some good spots on the GPS up in the Arrow head!  Did love me some good greasy bear roasts though!  😋

Yes, I'm on the West End.  No crappies yet, but I caught a couple of Cisco's and some perch this morning. Been dealing with chores at the cabin since 10 AM, so not much fishing.

Hard to tell exactly how much snow the way the wind was blowing it around, close to that I'll bet!  3 sleds went by earlier. Brian, are you on the west end? Did you fish?  Catch any crappies?

I was on the lake this morning. There is still a lot of ice. I went down to the housing on my auger a couple of times.  I'm not sure how much snow we got yesterday and last night but it looks like around 7 to 8 inches at least.
